Introduction
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), established in 2016 in Salak Tinggi, Sepang, Selangor, is the first overseas branch campus set up by Xiamen University, marking a significant milestone as the first Chinese university to establish a full-fledged campus abroad.
The campus spans approximately 900 acres, strategically located about 15 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and 20 kilometers from Putrajaya, Malaysia's administrative center.
Academically, XMUM offers 21 undergraduate programs across disciplines such as arts, business, medicine, science, and engineering. Except for Chinese Studies and Traditional Chinese Medicine, which are taught bilingually in Chinese and English, all other programs are delivered entirely in English. The faculty comprises distinguished professors from Xiamen University and globally recruited scholars, with over 80% holding doctoral degrees. Upon fulfilling graduation requirements, students receive degrees conferred by Xiamen University, recognized by both the Chinese and Malaysian Ministries of Education.
Currently, XMUM hosts over 7,500 students from 45 countries and regions, including Malaysia and China, fostering a vibrant international community.
